San Diego Zoo
Located in beautiful Balboa Park, the 100-acre
World-Famous San Diego Zoo was founded by Dr. Harry Wegeforth in 1916. This
colorful and extremely enterprising San Diego physician started the collection
with 50 animals gathered from various local menageries. Today, the San Diego
Zoo cares for over 3,800 animals of 800 different species. Its collection
of animals, as well as its plant collection of over 6,500 species, is acknowledged
as one of the finest in the entire world.
San Diego Wild Animal Park
With a 32-acre Heart of Africa walking
safari, Wgasa Bush Line Railway, Lorikeet Landing, Nairobi Village, and
Condor Ridge, a visit to the San Diego Wild Animal Park is like a safari
to many of the world's most exotic places. Set against the native habitat
of the San Pasqual Valley, the Park also features lush botanical gardens.
It is a facility designed first for the animals, and second for the people
who come to observe them. Nearing the end of its third decade of study
and preservation, it remains, as dubbed at its birth, "the zoo of
the future."
LEGOLAND
LEGOLAND California is a 128-acre park
geared specifically towards youngsters ages two through 12.
With rides, attractions to activate, shows and building projects in all
six themed "blocks," LEGOLAND Park mixes education, adventure
and fun in this first park of its kind in the United States. It’s
a land of surprise around every colorful corner, with both whimsical and
astonishingly accurate LEGO® brick models, lively music and a chance

There are only three other LEGOLAND parks in the world -- LEGOLAND Billund
in Denmark marked its 30th anniversary in 1998; LEGOLAND Windsor outside
of London opened in 1996, and LEGOLAND Deutschland, in Günzburg,
